I think we all know by now that Ruqaya's bookshelf books are hard to beat in quality and storytelling. Sumayyah Hussein is quickly becoming one of my favorite children's book authors. She tells a heartbreaking story of a grandfather who is slowly losing his memory and his own stories in such a way that is so relatable to any reader who is going through that experience. But she eases the heartbreak by shining a light of hope through the grandchild and how he beautifully deals with losing his Sido. I teared up and felt the sadness but felt hopeful simultaneously. Highly recommend this story and every other book written by Sumayyah Hussein.

This is such a beautifully written book. It explores the complex emotions a child may feel when witnessing the cognitive decline in an aging loved one. The author knows exactly how to tug at your heartstrings. I absolutely love this book. My kids have read it a dozen times in the past few days. Thank you for continously publishing books that speak to our children.

This is such a beautiful and touching story. The character development and transformation unfolds so well. The feelings and reactions of the characters are so vivid and realistic. It was heartwarming to watch how Musa uses his creativity to help himself and his grandfather.
