We receive hundreds of manuscripts per year! Our team carefully reviews them to
determine which stories align with our mandate at Ruqaya's Bookshelf. Then we contact the authors, and the process begins!

We pair authors up with our talented editors to make sure the
manuscripts reach their full potential. This process requires a bit of
patience and back and forth between the author and editor. Our authors always tell us this is an eye-opening experience and allows them to spend time developing their writing for future projects.

We divide the text of the final manuscript into a storyboard, and
then we search for illustrators whose style matches the vibe of the book. Illustration is one of the most fun steps, and it requires a lot of creativity! We always aim for our authors to be involved in every step of the illustration process to ensure their vision is honoured.

Once the illustration and design of the book is ready, we send it over
to our printers to get the books printed, packed, and ready to ship. The
printers ship the books, sometimes by air and sometimes by sea, to our
fulfillment warehouses.
